The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), founded in 1890 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and improving education for children. Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution is eligible for membership.

The Sacajawea Chapter of DAR was organized by thirteen Olympia women on November 17, 1905. On December 5, 1906, a charter was granted to the chapter by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR).

The collection consists of materials created by the oral history project committee of the Washington State Sacajawea Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Planning began in 2018 and interviews were conducted with various chapter members in 2019. Collection consists of one binder containing a printed outline of the project and 16 labelled flash drives. One flash drive contains an outline of the project, recording session log, interview release form, and pre-interview biographies; one flash drive contains an interview with the “Regent Panel”; one flash drive contains photographs of various DAR Washington State Chapter members and their families; and 13 flash drives contain interviews with 14 DAR Washington State Chapter members (some interviews are duplicated on multiple flash drives). Also includes a flash drive and print out of the project outline, recording session log, and interview release form.
