Historical NoteReturn to Top

Auxiliary Services at Central Washington University was organized as part of the Business Manager’s Office in 1962. Its original mission was to coordinate the college bookstore and dining halls on the Ellensburg campus. Its role expanded in the 1970s and 1980s to include accounting and computing services. The Division of Business and Financial Affairs Division was restructured in the fall of 1997 and Auxiliary Services was split into several offices within the division.

The clippings in this collection were taken from Central's student newspaper (the Campus Crier) and the local newspaper in Ellensburg, WA (the Daily Record).

Historical BackgroundReturn to Top

Central Washington University began as the Washington State Normal School in 1891. In 1937, the school was rechristened the Central Washington College of Education. In 1961, the school became Central Washington State College and, finally, in 1977, Central Washington University.
