The origins of Business Week began in the early the 1970s when Central Washington University President James Brooks began to facilitate meetings that brought together the state’s business and education leaders. Central Washington University hosted the first Business Week in the summer of 1976. Business Week has expanded to three other universities in the state of Washington since 1976.
