Gold Cup Hydroplane Races
There were hydroplane heats throughout Seafair, however the main race day was on Saturday, August 9, 1952.
From a note in the scrapbook: "In August, the Club hosted ambulatory patients from the Bremerton Naval Hospital at the Gold Cup Races on Lake Washington, a highlight of Seattle SeaFair week. Approximately 30 patients attended, while the Juniors were likewise well-represented. Coke, beer, sandwiches, potato chips and candid photographers were in abundance. (For this affair, two members of the Club slept all night on the lake shore to reserve the space for the race)"

Typed description of Ad Club Traffic Safety Booth
Text: The joint Seattle Safety Council-Seattle Junior Advertising Club booth measured six feet across, eight feet deep and ten feet high. It was finished in black and yellow highway stripes on three sides. Across the top of the boot were the slogans “Speed Kills” and Courtesy Saves Lives. The Seattle Traffic Engineers Department mounted various highway markers on the sides of the booth, as well as installing a three-way corner signal in front of the booth. The controller box was in the booth proper, with the inner mechanisms exposed so that the public could see the circuits close as the light operated on a ten-second interval. Across the back of the booth were photos donated by the Washington State Patrol showing accidents that occurred during the past year. Juniors staffing the booth wore white coveralls while on duty.
