Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Willis A. Dial settled in Logan with his wife and family after having served an LDS mission in Germany. He attended Utah State Agricultural College and graduated with a Master of Science in Education in 1951 before beginning a career as a woodshop teacher at Logan Junior High School.

This collection consists of research materials for Dial's thesis, "A Study of the Early Industrial Development in Cache Valley." It includes notes, outlines, transcripts of primary sources, newspaper clippings, typescripts form Daughters of Utah Pioneers files, and correspondence about the thesis and graduate program. There are also drafts of Dial's thesis, as well as two other papers that he wrote, "The Indian and His Influence in the Early Settlement of Cache Valley" and "Chronological Survey of Actvities within Cache Valley to 1884."
