Historical NoteReturn to Top

The Tacoma Historical Society was founded in 1990. The original focus of the group was on educational opportunities via community forums and publications. In 1993, the Society held its first “Historic Homes of Tacoma” tour as a fundraiser for the future museum. In January of 2008, the Society hired it's first director. In March 2014, the Society opened a museum in the historic Provident Building at 919 Pacific Avenue.
