The Japanes American Citizens League (JACL), the oldest Asian American civil rights organization, was founded in 1929. The purpose of the JACL is to promote the civil rights of Japanese Americans and other minorities in the United States.

The JACL Utah Chapter records contain organizational materials for both the National JACL and local chapters as well as materials from other Japanese American events and organizations. The Mount Olympus Chapter Records were combined with the JACL Utah Chapter Records.
