- La Creole Academic Institute was built in 1846 between the towns of La Creole and Dallas, Oregon as a non-sectarian, liberal arts college; the name of the school would later change to La Creole Academy. The collection (1892) contains student essays hand-written on Academy writing stationery on physical geography, rhetoric, algebra, Latin, the solar system, and book keeping subjects. The collection also includes a journal of the minutes of the faculty of Dallas College, dating from 1904 to 1914.

The collection (1892) contains short student essays hand-written on Academy writing stationery on subjects such as physical geography, rhetoric, algebra, Latin, the solar system, and book keeping. The collection also includes a journal of the minutes of the faculty of Dallas College, which was born of the 1900 merger of La Creole Academy and Lafayette Seminary. The journal dates from 1904 to 1914.
