Johan Henri Moser was born on 22 September 1876 in Wahern, Switzerland, to Johan Moser and Elizabeth Fluhenan. He attended the Brigham Young College in Logan, Utah, the Utah State Agricultural College, and studied art in France. He was a professor at the Utah State Agricultural College and also farmed in Malad, Idaho, for eight years. Moser married Aldina Wursten in September 1905. He was known as one of Cache Valley's "pioneer artists." Johan Henri Moser died around 1950.
