This collection contains literary papers of Calvin (Cal) A. Rogers, also known as Cal Engelbart. It primarily consists of Rogers' unpublished writings and correspondence sent to the family of his friend, Dr. William Brandt, Professor of Music at Washington State University. The collection also contains an audio recording (reel-to-reel), and a copy of Rogers' poem "Antiquated Smith," published in The Creative Writing Magazine of the University of Washington.

Calvin (Cal) A. Rogers, also known as Cal Engelbart, was a mathematician and aspiring writer. He received his education in mathematics from the University of Washington during the 1940s and 1950s, and later served as a Professor of Mathematics at Colorado State University. In addition to several unpublished novels and poems, Rogers published the textbook Elements of Algebra in 1962. The Department of Mathematics at Colorado State University awards the Calvin A. Rogers Memorial Award to students with an interest in the teaching of mathematics.
