Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Professor of sanitary engineering, University of Washington.
Robert Ohrum Sylvester was born 1914. He was a civil engineer, a former director of the Universtiy of Washington Environmental Studies Institute and former dean of the Civil Engineering Department. His research, writing and publications were concerned with sewage disposal problems and water pollution. He was a member of professional and civic organizations including American Society of Civil Engineers, International Association on Water Pollution Research, Western States Water Council, Municipality of Metropolitan Seattle (Metro), and local organizations and governmental commissions. He retired in 1978.
