Content DescriptionReturn to Top

Written by a member of an "alternative" sorority, Psi Kappa Omichron ("Psycho"), the essay discusses the nature and practices of this "underground" organization. The origin and the expressions of the group are folkloric, ranging from cultural inversion, to ritual initiation, naming, and chanting. The event described, an initiation, includes contextualization and transcription by author, who handles it generally as a rite of passage.
