#11 Text: The fox and the rose are from the LIttle Prince. Sydney's mom and her got matching tattoos because the fox gets tamed by the Little Prince and they become best friends. The rose is the single flower in the boy's garden. Both of these ideas are important to Sydney and her mother. Sydney's mom is ill and the tattoo is to remind Sydney of her. Setting: I received this piece over text from Sydney, and the specific description of its meaning let me know it is very emotionally charged and tethers her to a positive childhood story.

#12 Text: This is a memorial tattoo for Sydney's cousin who passed away from cancer. Her cousin got the tattoo when she was first diagnosed with cancer and Sydney got the tattoo two years after her cousin's passing. This tattoo helps herremember her cousin's life and vitality. Setting: I received this work from Sydney via text, and even over text message I could read her emotional ties to this piece.
