Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Edith Ruth Warner was born in Seattle on September 20, 1898 to Arthur Churchill Warner (1864-1943) and Edith Randolph Warner (1870-1951). She had an older sister, Alice (1895-1990) and a younger brother, William (1904-1959). Her older siblings Adelia (1891), Ralph (1892), Arthur (1895) died in infancy. She attended grade school at Lowell Elementary in Seattle. For high school, Warner went to Broadway High School, also known as Seattle High School. The campus is now part of Seattle Central College’s campus. She attended at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota and graduated in 1920. After graduating from college, she taught at Poulsbo High School for four years and in the Biology Department at the University of Washington before her death on March 8th, 1925 at age 26.
