Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Photographers C.L. Winter and N.O. Brown (professionally known as Winter & Brown) worked out of Eugene, Oregon and spent summers in Juneau where they were prominent fixtures in 1886-1887. An announcement in the Alaska Free Press (October 12, 1887) stated that "Over 200 views of the grand, wild Northwest, from Nanaimo to Chilkoot, the head of the Inland Passage" were available. By 1889, all sign of them had disappeared.
