Content DescriptionReturn to Top

Master's terminal project documentary about two communities in Portland, OR, who work on disaster perparedness and "survivalist" skills. The film explores how members use apocalyptic popular culture, including but not limited zombie apocalypse narratives, to create their own vernacular culture, fulfill fantasies of the death of modernity and a return to the "primitive", and engage in community building around concepts of survivalism.
