Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Kristín Margrét Jóhannsdóttir was a researcher at the University of British Columbia and the University of Iceland. She focused on both Gitksan (also spelled Gitxsan) and Nordic languages in her research. In 2005, she earned a grant from the Jacobs Research Fund to study Gitksan in Kispiok, a Gitksan-speaking village in British Columbia. Since 2015, Jóhannsdóttir has been a professor in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at University of Akureyri in Iceland.
