- The Bureau of Economic and Business Research was established in 1932 to support research by faculty members of the Department of Economics and the College of Business on the economic problems and potential of Utah and the Rocky Mountain region. The Bureau conducts research and data analysis and publishes periodicals and monographs. This collection consists of correspondence, memoranda, reports, and staff meeting minutes pertaining to Bureau operations and activities.

This collection consists of correspondence, memoranda, reports, and staff meeting minutes pertaining to Bureau operations and activities. The majority of the records were created during the administration of R. Thayne Robson who was Director of the Bureau from 1972 to 2002. Robson was the creator of the majority of the miscellaneous reports and presentations which primarily discuss economic conditions wihin the state of Utah.
