Biographical Note
King was born in 1887 in South Dakota. In the 1920s and 1930s, he worked in radio in Seattle and helped to organize one of the first professional radio dramatic companies on the West Coast (KOL players). He wrote radio scripts and also served as program director for several stations. He was interested in and perhaps participated in the Federal Theatre Project in the 1930s. He wrote plays and did research for a novel on Huron, South Dakota. In 1941, he became head of the Education Library at the UW. He died in 1955. He used the pseudonym "Oliver King."
