Jan Thompson is a Seattle artist, born in Spokane, WA. She was well acquainted with members of the Northwest School of art, especially Morris Graves.

Among the more notable correspondents are Morris Graves, Richard Gilkey, Guy Anderson, Theodore Roethke, and Carolyn Kizer, as well as a note from Anjelica Huston. Manuscripts include" Helmi Juvonen & Morris Graves" by Wesley Wehr and" Morris Graves: his houses, his gardens" by Richard Svare.
