Historical NoteReturn to Top

GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) was a five-year, federally funded grant program aimed at preparing students to enter and succeed in college or other post-secondary certificate programs. A portion of the program was conducted through Central Washington University in partnership with public school districts of Highland, Othello, Prosser, Royal, and Wahluke in Washington state. The Northwest Learning and Achievement Group from Wapato, Big Bend Community College, CWU Bridges, and SEMY (Secondary Education for Migrant Youth) in Sunnyside also partnered for the grant, 2003-2008.
