Professor emeritus of civil engineering, University of Washington; university administrator and dean emeritus.
Dale Carlson was appointed to the University of Washington faculty in 1955 and served as dean of the college of engineering (1977-1980). He specialized in the areas of water resources and solid-waste management. Carlson has also served as the director of the Valle scholarship and Scandinavian exchange program since its inception during his tenure as dean.
