The University of Washington Parking Services was a division of Transportation Services, which is a division of Facilities Services. This office was responsible for managing the University's limited parking resources to meet campus and community needs. Parking Services was comprised of several units: Permits Issuance, Facilities, Operations, Special Events, and Accounting, which managed approximately 11,500 parking spaces on the Seattle campus, including several garages.

From 1969 to 1984, the department was called Parking Division and was part of the Physical Plant. In 1985, the Transportation Office separated from the Physical Plant and the Parking Division moved with it. In 1991, the Transportation Office changed its name to Transportation Services. In 1996, when Transportation Services became part of Facilities Services, the Parking Division changed its name to Parking Services. Parking Services managed the U-PASS program and other commuter programs until around 2007, when the formation of Commuter Services absorbed Parking Services and its sub-units. Because of these shifts in organizational structure, Parking Services records may also be found within the records of Commuter Services and Transportation Services.
