Content Description
Collection of photographs documenting University of Washington theater activities from 1890 to 1950. Primarily images of theatrical productions although also covers in part theater buildings and activities of various dramatic organizations on campus. Includes: Denny Hall, Meany Hall (Old), Gymnasium, Sylvan Theater, Penthouse (Edmond Meany Hotel), Studio Theater, Penthouse (Ave.), Penthouse (Campus), Showboat, Glenn Hughes Playhouse, Seattle Repertory Playhouse, Washington State Theater Co., Works Progress Administration. Collection is organized by theater building and then by the various dramatic companies that performed in those theaters. Unprinted negatives from this collection include UW negs 9848-9932, 9991-9995.
