Biographical NoteReturn to Top
William R. Fields, Jr., was a graduate student at Central Washington State College (presently Central Washington University) in the early 1970s. To fulfill his requirement for a master’s degree in education, he wrote a thesis titled "The History of Thorp, Kittitas County, State of Washington to 1901." He submitted the thesis and received his degree in August of 1973. He also attained a bachelor of arts degree in education from Central Washington State College in 1966.

This collection consists of oral history interviews conducted by William R. Fields while researching his thesis on the history of Thorp, Washington, in 1973. The oral histories include remembrances of local residents of Thorp from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
