Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Siegfried Vogt (1939-2010) was born in Bavaria, Germany, and emigrated to the United States in 1956. He attended Centralia (WA) Junior College, received his bachelor's degree from Oregon State University, his master's degree in Political Science from the University of Idaho (1965), and his Ph.D. in Political Science from Washington State University (1972). He also studied at the University of Vienna, earning a diploma in 1964. He was an avid outdoorsman, and from 1957 to 1961 he worked as a timber cruiser for the U.S. Forest Service.
He was a member of the library faculty at Washington State University for 30 years, beginning in 1972.

This collection consists of professional papers of Washington State University librarian Siegfried Vogt. Most of the material relates to his work in collection development and in faculty governance, with additional material related to the International Workers of the World (IWW).
