Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Jali Nyama Suso (circa 1925-1991) was a kora player and radio presenter from the Republic of The Gambia. He started recording for Radio Gambia in 1956 and continued a program with the national radio broadcaster for two decades. Suso taught at the University of Washington in the early 1970s. In the 1980s he toured throughout Europe, promoting the kora/jali tradition.
