Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Pearl Rook Hanley was born in Indiana to parents Mary J. Wright and John T. Rook. She attended high school in Dunkirk, Indiana, and Franklin College before teaching public school in Dunkirk. She married Dr. Erestus Talbot Hanley in Seattle on August 29, 1905. Dr. Hanley died on January 23, 1936.
Pearl Hanley was an active member of the Seattle First Baptist Church. She died on May 26, 1982.

Hanley, signed by President Lyndon B. Johnson; and a certificate of discharge from the Army for her grandfather Peter Wright's service during the Civil War.
