Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Gail Baker is on the faculty of the Science Department teaching biology and botany. She received a BS in biology from the University of California, Irvine (1974) and an MS in biology from San Diego State University (1977). Before coming to LCC, she was a research scientist for three universities - University of California, Irvine, University of California, Los Angeles, and Oregon State University; she also taught for six years at North Seattle Community College. She began teaching part-time at LCC in 1986 and became a full-time instructor in 1994; she retired in 2009 although she continues teaching part-time.

Pisgah Arboretum Wildflower Festival, 2004; the alumni award for Dan Luoma, 2005; selected articles from the Native Plant Society Bulletin, 2004-2005; booklet titled “Flower Structure, inflorencence and pollination, n.d.; illustrated booklets about Field Characteristics, 1976; and Plant Family Flash Cards.

He graduated from Oregon State University with a PhD (1988) and is an assistant professor of Forest Ecosystems and Society in the College of Forestry, specializing in mushrooms.
