Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Dr. Charles Quay North (1888-1953) was born in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania on May 6, 1888. North attended the University of Washington from 1908 to 1912 where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. He then studied medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated in 1916. Charles North spent a year working at Philadelphia's General Hospital and spent almost two years in the United States Army. He applied for his medical license in the State of Washington in 1919 and was a physician in private practice in West Seattle.
