Edward Arthur Wilson (1886-1970) was an illustrator of children's books, magazines, and advertising art, among other artistic jobs. The collection (1912-1962) contains original art work for book illustrations and other work, proofs, tearsheets, commercial booklets, calendars, posters, greeting cards, sketchbooks, correspondence with publishers, and artwork by others.

Edward Arthur Wilson (1886-1970) was born in Glasgow, Scotland and came to the US with his parents in 1893. He was educated at the Art Institute of Chicago, studied under Howard Pyle, and commenced his art career as a free-lancer in New York in 1911.

He is most widely known as the illustrator of a number of Limited Editions Club books in which his personal fondness for ships and the sea is evident. He was also an illustrator for magazines, for children's books, advertising art, posters, greeting cards, and bookplates.
