Lower Columbia River Sportmen's Council was formed to protect fish and game, and the habitat of wild life in its area, as well as to promote sportsmanlike methods of hunting and fishing. It worked to procure the enactment of laws for the protection and restoration of wild life. The donor, Howard Nelson, was Secretary of the Council for a number of years.
