Fisheries executive.

Guy Halferty was born in 1882. He was president of the Fisheries Educational Association. This was an organization created in 1933 to counter the efforts of Washington sportmen to prohibit all forms of mechanical fishing gear - purse seines, traps, etc. The sportsmen's bill was Initiative 77, which primarily concerned the canned salmon industry. Halferty died in 1960.
