Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Adebisi "Bisi" Adeleke is a drummer from la-Orangun, Nigeria. He is a fourth-generation master in the lineage of Yoruba talking praise drums. A talking drum has a hour-class shape with two membranes on each end. There are cords on the outside of the drum that affect membrane tension and adjust the pitch.

Original recording by Gary Louie for the UW School of Music on Panasonic SV-250 DAT recorder with Neumann KM-84 mics (near-coincident ORTF pattern) and Symetrix SX 202 dual mic preamp.
