The Work/Life office supports University faculty, staff and students in meeting their work and family needs through consultation and referral to campus and community resources. As a division of Human Resources, the office provides high quality programs, resources, and personal development opportunities related to child care, elder care, flexible work options, and other issues that impact members of the University of Washington community. Work/Life was originally established in 1988 and was combined with Human Resource's Benefits office in early 2006 to form Benefits and Work/Life.

Includes correspondence, minutes, agendas, meeting notes, proposals, contracts, reports, policy documents, insurance certificates, bylaws, grant files, budget files, surveys, questionnaires, lists, design drawings, brochures, newsletters, clippings, handbooks, and similar materials related to the creation of a child care facility, the Cottage School at Harborview, for Harborview Medical Center staff at the University of Washington. Files were created during the tenure of Randi Shapiro while serving as Faculty/Staff Childcare Coordinator and Coordinator of Work/Family Services, and document her involvement on the Childcare Advisory Committee.
