- Charles Nixon Holman received his medical degree from and served on the faculty of the University of Oregon Medical School. Dr. Holman's papers consist of one document box of notes, correspondence, and drafts of his book, "A History of the University of Oregon Medical School", published in 1977.

Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Charles Nixon Holman was born on March 7, 1909 in Molalla, OR. He attended Oregon State College (B.A., 1931) and the University of Oregon Medical School (M.D., 1936). He worked as Intern/Resident at the UOMS from 1937-39, Instructor at UOMS from 1940-42, Assistant Professor at UOMS from 1942-43, Associate Professor at the UOMS (1943-55), Professor at UOMS from 1955-78, Associate Dean of the School of Medicine from 1957-68, and Dean of the School of Medicine from 1968-75. Dr. Holman died on April 13, 1978.
