Historical NoteReturn to Top
In 1965 the US Congress passed legislation asking state governments to assume responsibility for improving access for private business and industry to the results of federally funded research. Washington State was one of the first states to establish an agency to promote this end. Projects were funded at several State universities beginning in 1966. UW projects were coordinated through the Continuing Education Office.
