Historical NoteReturn to Top
The Executive Vice President is the chief business and financial officer for the University of Washington. The Executive Vice President is also one of the primary policymakers for the University of Washington and represents the university in political, business, and civic affairs. Prior to mid-August 1987, this office was the Office of the Vice President for Finance and Administration. Weldon E. Ihrig was appointed Executive Vice President in 1996.

The bulk of the accession consists of correspondence files arranged by year, divided into UW and Washington State correspondence and then arranged by subject. Material dates primarily from the tenure of Tallman Trask III as Executive Vice President, but some is from the tenure of John R. Pettit, who became Acting EVP in late 1995.

John R. Hogness was the Executive Vice President at the time. The collection includes correspondence, reports, court documents, clippings, and flyers, handbills and other ephemera.
