In January 2016, a group of armed ranchers occupied the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Harney County, Oregon. The group protested the management of federal public land, and policies related to natural resources.

A portfolio ("Standoff") of 25 photographic prints of the 2016 occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Harney County, OR. The Portland-based photographer, Shawn Records, holds a BA from Boise State University and an MFA from Syracuse University. The collection includes photographs of Ammon Bundy, LaVoy Finicum, and members of the Pacific Patriot's Network. A selection of the photographs appeared in a January 2016 issue of the New York Times Magazine.
