Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Boyd W. DeBunce was born in Ephraim, Utah on January 14, 1906. In 1925, DeBunce started a photography business where he traveled around the country taking family portraits. After serving in the military during World War II, Boyd was discharged to Walla Walla, Washington for surgery at the Veterans' Administration Hospital in 1945. Boyd and his wife, Mary Ellen, remained in Walla Walla. They purchased the former Arnold studio located on 2nd and Alder in 1947. For 14 years, DeBunce Studio occupied two locations on Main Street and in 1961 they moved to a building on Alder and Roosevelt. Boyd retired from DeBunce Studio in August, 1971. He died on November 11, 1986.
