Four interviews (January-February 2000) with members of the Harry Cooper Family, who are enrolled members of the Nooksack Indian Tribe of Washington and fishermen. Focus Group discussion and interviews were conducted by Kristen Shuyler for her Master's thesis in Geography at the University of Washington. Topics are associated with salmon fishing, including traditional native fishing in North Puget Sound, effects of the "Boldt Decision" (U.S. v. Washington, 1974) on fisheries user groups, conflicts among these groups, family life, opinion on current events in fishing regulation and politics, and related topics. Family members interviewed include Harry E. Cooper, Nooksack Tribal Chairman during the 1980s; his wife Laverne Cooper; their son Harry B. Cooper, head of Nooksack Tribal fisheries in the 1970s; Jack Leathers, Harry E. Cooper's cousin; and Jack's wife Pearl Leathers.
