- Oral history interview of a Seattle Jewish community member in which he describes his parents' experiences in Eastern Europe and how a 1906 program in their city of Ekaterinaslav led to immigration. The family came to Seattle in 1907, Irving was born 1909, and then they moved to Tacoma for a few years before finally settling in Seattle in 1916. Mr. Anches talks about his father's businesses, from peddling to second hand clothing stores to military surplus stores following World War I. Irving and his father began buying real estate in 1936 and Mr. Anches speaks of his successes. He also speaks of his own religious education and his family's devotion to Bikur Cholim Congregation
