The Cascade Wilderness Club formed in 1963 by outdoor enthusiasts from Bellingham, Washington. The purpose of the club was to promote and encourage the use of wilderness areas and other outdoor recreational facilities around Mount Baker and the North Cascades. The club organized hikes, camping and fishing trips, water activities, and other outings for members, with an emphasis on family participation. The club also presented and/or sponsored educational programs, and promoted/reported on conservation activities.
