The collection (1918) contains correspondence between Hukari and Dorcas Aurelia DeWitt (who would become his wife) while he was serving in WWI.

Arvo Hukari owned orchards in Hood River, Oregon. He served in WWI as an enlisted man in the 25th Company, 7th Battalion, 166th Depot Brigade, at Ft. Lewis, Washington. He married Dorcas Aurelia DeWitt on October 1, 1918.
