"It's a Wonderful Life" was a film directed by Frank Capra in 1946. James Stewart, Donna Reed, and Lionel Barrymore starred in the iconic motion picture about an angel who helps a compassionate, but despairing, businessman by showing him what life would have been like if he had never existed. The plot was based on a short story by Philip Van Doren Stern titled "The Greatest Gift".
