Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Yaşar Özel (1934-2019) was a bass baritone singer, radio personality, and teacher from Diyarbakir, Turkey. During his youth, he worked at Ankara Radio and taught vocal lessons. In 1970, he switched to Istanbul Radio and started releasing his own albums. By the time of his death in 2019, he had released over 200 albums and performed concerts around the world.
