Historical Note

Seattle Co-Arts was founded in 1949 as a forum for artists to meet and expand their love of art. The objectives of Seattle Co-Arts are to encourage creativity and artistic development, to offer educational activities, to present members' work to the public, to encourage community interest in the arts, and to cooperate with other organizations in furtherance of art appreciation. Membership is open to emerging and established artists. Members are able to take part in a variety of programming and activities, including workshops, “paint-outs,” and juried and non-juried shows.
