Content Description

Chiefly handwritten lecture notes for courses taught by Eugenia May Fuller in the University of Washington Dept. of Architecture, possibly between the academic years of 1925 and 1928. The notes include printed illustrations and photographs for the History of Architecture and the History of Painting courses. Architecture of Europe and the Near East has photographs only. Also includes a photograph showing the Dept. of Architecture students and faculty, ca. 1925 (including Carl Gould and Eugenia Fuller).

Detailed Description of the Collection

 

  • Description: Teaching Notes: History of Architecture

    Hand-written teaching script (400 pages) on lined paper. Text integrates several hand drawings by Fuller, as well as pasted-in photos and illustrations cut from other sources. Removed from 2-punch binder cover (cover extant). Lessons cover basic principles of architecture and its history from ancient Egypt to the Renaissance. Includes typewritten notes (outline and guide) from the department suggesting how to structure the course. Also includes several evaluations of Fuller as a student, from 1912-1913, possibly by Carl F. Gould.

    Handwritten teaching script (300 pages) on lined paper; reproductions of paintings cut from other sources and pasted in. Removed from 2-punch binder cover (cover extant). Lessons cover basic principles of painting and its history from ancient Egyptian vases to the various schools including Dutch, Flemish, and Spanish. Includes typewritten notes (outline and guide) from the department suggesting how to structure the course.
