Parents and Friends of Gays and Lesbians (PFLAG) was founded in 1972 by a mother who wanted to publicly support her gay son. It is "made up of parents, families, friends, and straight allies uniting with lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people."
"PFLAG is committed to advancing equality through its mission of support, education and advocacy. PFLAG is a national non-profit organization [and] has over 350 chapters and 200,000 supporters in major urban centers, small cities and rural areas in all 50 states."

The collection is organized by accession; as of 2013 there is only one accession.
Accession 02.073.M: contains PFLAG ephemera, newsletters, "battle plans," copies of legal transcripts from discrimination cases, a history of gay-rights and discrimination in Oregon, and scrapbooks of articles, opinions, and clippings regarding pro and anti-gay rights groups.
The collection also contains ephemera and research on anti-gay organizations.
Many of the records are undated; most of the records seem to have originated in the 1990s.
