Biographical Note

Joseph Gluck was born in 1882 in what is now Poland. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1904 eventually becoming a diamond merchant. Gluck was a lifetime member of the Washington State Young Democrats. He was finance chairman of the King County Democratic Committee for six years and from ca. 1952-1964 was Washington's representative to the Democratic National Committee. He was a delegate to the 1960 National Convention and a member of JFK's inaugural committee. Gluck was also active in the Seattle Jewish Community, and a member of B'nai B'rith Lodge 503, president of the Seattle District of the Zionist Organization of America and board member of the Jewish National Fund. He died in 1978.
